Robotics is a growing area. While some people think that robots and automation will destroy jobs, others think that the growing use of automated processes and machinery will create jobs. In the past 90 days, there were 14,700 job ads available online that required use or knowledge of robotic components. This is a 11% year-over-year increase compared to the same 90-day period in 2012.
Hiring Demand for Jobs that Require Robotics Skills - 4 Year Hiring Trend
The fields that most commonly required robotics skills in the past 90 days included healthcare, engineering, production workers, repair and maintenance workers, and IT. Healthcare saw the most job ads posted online, with more than 4,700 across all health and medical related occupations. In addition, they also saw incredible year-over-year growth. The number of job ads posted online in the past 90 days that required robotics skills was up 32% compared to last year. We are seeing great growth in the healthcare area due to more surgeries and procedures using robotic devices to improve precision. Architecture and IT occupations actually decreased, down 8% and 3% respectively. Maintenance/repair jobs were up 9% and production occupations, which include occupations like welders and machinists, were up 12% from 2012.

- Registered Nurse
- Welding Engineer
- Gameroom Technician
- Robotic Welder
