Canada's most recent Labor Force Survey revealed that employment decreased by 39,000 during July 2013. There were declines in health care and social assistance, public administration and information, and culture and recreation. Gains occurred in business, building and other support services. This industrial sector added 29,000 jobs to the economy, which was a 6.2% increase in employment compared to this time last year, the highest growth rate among all sectors. Demand in the business, building and other support services sector is comprised of job ads listed by management of companies and enterprises, administrative, support, waste management, and remediation services. Combined, job volume for these industries grew 7% when comparing July 2013 to July 2012. Despite having fewer job ads than the administrative industry, growth was mostly led by the management industry (+35% year-over-year).
Toronto (ON), Calgary (AB), and Montreal (QB) had the most job ads posted online for business, building, and other support services. Each of these cities experienced year-over-year growth in this sector. Demand in Montreal increased the most, rising 38% over last year. The most sought after jobs in July are listed below.

Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers had the highest job growth of these occupations, rising 100% in July 2013 when compared to the same time last year. Construction Managers also experienced a significant increase in demand during this span of time, growing 66% over last year. Specifically, the offices of bank holding industry had the most job ads, growing 22%.
