Media outlets and corporations are realizing the importance of creating content on their websites. Content drives and retains web traffic that contributes to business results. One such example is blogs. Blogging can also be referred to as brand journalism, an indirect advertising message that promotes the company while providing information that is appealing to their target audience. Over the past 4 years hiring demand for Bloggers experienced a bumpy ride. However, it looks like this skill made steadier progress this year increasing 214% since January 2012.

The most commonly required blogging skill is WordPress, which is one of the most popular blog publishing tools. Second to that skill is SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which helps direct traffic to the website and/or blog.

Since blogging is a young skill, hiring for Bloggers is moderately difficult. Dallas, TX has the most favorable hiring conditions due to a large talent pool in relation to the volume of jobs advertised. New York City has the most job ads posted for this skill followed by Washington, D.C.
