It seems that there is no end in sight for cloud computing hiring demand. In June, the number of online job ads jumped to more than 18,000, marking a new high in demand.
4 Year Hiring Trend for Cloud Computing Jobs
You probably aren't surprised that many of the in-demand jobs are technology and computer science related. Below are the 10 most commonly advertised job titles that include cloud computing specifications.
- Enterprise Sales Executive – Network Hosting Sales
- Software Engineer

- Senior Account Executive

Of these 10 titles, 7 are tech jobs. The other remaining 3 jobs are sales and account management occupations. As companies are investing in more cloud technologies, it would make sense that sales positions would increase.
Since the jobs are technology related, most of the certifications that are commonly required of candidates are also technology or programming related.

- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

As demand continues (and we don't see it stopping), our Hiring Scale™ confirms that employers are likely to see these jobs becoming more difficult to fill. More than 2,400 employers across the US are currently competing to attract candidates. This heavy competition will contribute to hard conditions and a longer time-to-fill. In fact, cloud computing jobs remain online for 44 days, meaning that it is likely that Recruiters will spend more than 6 weeks on average filling these positions. However, there are some locations in the US that are experiencing more favorable conditions. For example, Jackson (Mississippi), Ogden (Utah), and Riverside-San Bernardino (California) have an average posting period of 38 days – one of the lowest in the US. Recruiters here are likely to take 1 week less to fill a cloud computing job.
