Is Hiring Bigger in Texas?

A Jobs. Trends. Insight. reader requested hiring trends for Texas, so we looked at recent demand in this state. In April, Texas was among the states with the most job ads posted online, second only to California. As of April 2013, the number of job listings in Texas was larger than last year, rising 15% when compared to April 2012. Employers posted the highest number of job ads in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metro area, representing a 17% year-over-year increase. Demand in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metro area has followed a similar 4-year pattern and rose 21% in the past year. These 2 Texas cities were also among the metro areas with the highest demand in the nation.
